Name: Prosad Aaron Caruk
Bio:
Prosad has been studying Classical Sitar for many years now
with Sitar Master Ustad Irshad Khan. His teacher's lineage, known
as the "Imdad Khan-i Etawa Gharana", dates back 400 years. Ustad
Irshad Khan's ancestors played for the ancient kings of India and
are credited with pioneering the modern style of sitar playing
accepted widely today.
Although Prosad's specialty is sitar, he is also studying the
basics of tabla and Indian vocal. This is a tradition of the great
lineage that he is learning from.
Prosad has done the majority of his study in Toronto where his
teacher resides, but he has also travelled throughout India to
absorb the culture and to study with his teacher while in Bombay.
Prosad has recorded one CD of Classical Indian Sitar. It is
a great CD for meditation and relaxation. To hear samples,
